Termination of a pregnancy, or as it is more commonly known, "abortion", is the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus, effectively ending the pregnancy.
As the law stands in the UK it is legal for a woman to have an induced abortion up to 24 weeks into a pregnancy though many hospitals or clinics will not consider a termination beyond 18 to 20 weeks.
There are three methods for termination of pregnancy:
- abortion pill
- surgical termination
- medical termination
